The Faith Build included sixteen faith-based organizations, each assigned three work days over the course of the project.
The Zion Lutheran team of volunteers completed our three work days for this year’s Faith build in July – and what an amazing three days of hard work it was! We met great team leaders, volunteers from other faith groups, and family members that are part of Habitat’s program. Everyone’s time and commitment are so amazing!
We also learned so much about how Habitat for Humanity works. It is a great organization that does so much to help families find good, safe homes in a manner that they can afford. The families that are accepted into Habitat’s program buy the homes interest free with a mortgage payment that is manageable. They also put in required volunteer hours on build sites and at Habitat Restore and take classes about budgeting and home ownership. Habitat does such great job of setting them up for success. Hearing from families in the program each time we were on site was very emotional and uplifting. Visit here for more pictures!
Thank you to everyone who volunteered and prayed for the Faith Build! Dedication ceremony was held Sunday, September 26. We are looking forward to being a part of Faith Build 2022 – so keep your eyes open for more information on that.
We ask that everyone continue to pray for the families, staff and volunteers of this very important project and to pray for God’s help and guidance. Thanks be to God for Habitat for Humanity and all the staff, volunteers and families!
If anyone has used furniture or building supplies they would like to donate, Habitat Restore is a great place to donate. All proceeds from the sales at Restore go to funding future builds. You can drop items off or schedule a pick up!
