Tina has resided in Perry Township her entire adult life. She joined our team with over 22 years of church background experience as Bookkeeper/Secretary/Administrator. Also chairing functions such as fundraisers, capital & stewardship campaigns, receptions, and various church functions. Enjoys being involved in the community & William McKinley Presidential Library & Museum where she has volunteered for over 35 years, receiving volunteer of the year award in 2001. Fun interests include collecting antiques, baking and being with life long friends.
James G. (“Jim”) Fidler was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He earned a B.A., from Temple University and then a Juris Doctorate from Temple University School of Law. Jim served as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (“FBI”). Jim and his wife moved to Canton, and joined Zion Lutheran Church in 2006. Jim has served on several special project committees and previously served on the Church Council in various positions including President.
Darlene is a life long member of Zion Lutheran Church. She has been married to her husband, Lou, for 31 years. They have 5 children and 13 grandchildren. Darlene has served in many different positions on Council and ministries over the years.
Jayne has been a member of Zion for over 50 years. She and her husband Mike have two children and four grandchildren. SHe is an active participant in Food Pantry, VBS & Fall Craft Show. Jayne enjoys flower gardening, walking and babysitting her grandkids.
Beth is a life-long member of Zion, having been baptized, confirmed, and married in the church. She and her husband Sam have two children. Beth has a Bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and has served as the Treasurer for four years.
Paul is a retired elementary school principal from Kent and a Canal Fulton Lion member. Paul is the father of four adult children, husband to Cindy for 49 years, and enjoys camping.
The Caring Ministry consists of several supporting teams: Visitation, Parish Nurse, Prayer Chain, Funeral Reception Meals, Comfort Givers, Food Pantry, and others. Please consider joining us in these important outreach activities.
Debbie has been a member of Zion since 1999. She and her husband, Dean, have two sons and two dogs who love to come to church. Debbie has also served as Parish Life Elder, Christian Education Chair and currently is the VBS Director, as well as a Sunday School & Youth Leader.
Laura joined Zion Lutheran Church 60 years ago. She has held various positions on Council and in the various ministries over the years. Laura has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and an M.B.A. in Finance, both from The Univ. of Akron. Laura has over 40 years of experience in finance and management. She is fully committed to serving Zion and our community.
Tina is a native Cantonian and has enjoyed being a member of Zion for many years.
She is looking forward to becoming more involved with the church, and is hoping many members will also join her in our congregation’s activities and fellowship.
Tina is retired as a Registered Nurse. She enjoys exercising, music, theater and world travel. In her free time, she loves babysitting and spending time with her three beautiful grandchildren.
George grew up two blocks away from the church, was baptized by Pastor Ruth, confirmed by Pastor Musche, and was also an acolyte at Zion. George’s mom, Audrey was active with the women of Zion, working alongside some of the ladies currently in Women of Zion & Comfort Givers. George has enjoyed two of his sisters’ weddings at Zion over the years as well. He’s excited to take on this new role and looks forward to working with the congregation enhancing the beauty of our Church.
Ken has been a Lutheran his entire life. He joined Zion, N. Canton in 2020. Ken attended Trinity Lay Academy for 5 years, served on the NEOS pulpit supply list for 15 years, and had served three congregations in the capacity of long-term supply. Ken has worked with Habitat, taught Sunday School, led Bible Studies, visited shut-ins, and introduced the Prayer Initiative.
Ken has two children and three grandsons.
Cindy will continue to support Zion’s mission for community development.
