Stewardship Soundings – It’s not About Money.

Is this MEME what you think of when you hear; Stewardship?

Well, we have good news for you! It’s not about money.

Jesus tells us about stewardship in the parable of the laborers in the vineyard (Matthew 20:1-16).

Let’s walk through that parable for a moment:

• Some think the landowner represents God; for the landowner is generous and treats all equally.

That seems reasonable.

• The landowner asks; “Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me?” (v15).
  He is saying that everything belongs to the him; the land, the grapes, the wages.
• So, if the landowner represents God, then does that mean everything belongs to God?
  Now you understand, well done!

So, stewardship is about recognizing, accepting, and admitting that God owns everything – God is, after all, the Creator.
