John 17:1-11

05/21/23

7th Sunday of Easter (John 17:1-11)

Gospel Message from Pastor William

When I called Bingo at the local nursing home, I enjoyed it when a particular number came up; I’d say: “What did Jesus pray for us to be?” and the folks learned to call back to me: “Be one” (B1). In today’s gospel, Jesus prays that we would be one together in his name, just as he and the Holy Father are one. Wow! Jesus wants us that tight? You bet! No more division, no more hatred, no more selfishness. Instead, we will be one; one in mutual affection, one in a hope filled future, one in serving and praying for each other.
