Luke 17:11-19

10/09/22

18th Sunday after Pentecost (Luke 17:11-19)

Gospel Message from Pastor William.

On Jesus’ way to Jerusalem to endure the cross, he encounters ten lepers who plead with him to “have mercy on us.” Of course, Jesus does so, but there is more to the story. You see, one of lepers was a Samaritan; the enemy of the Jews. This outcast was doubly so because he also had leprosy. But Jesus showed no partiality; he healed the nine faithful Jews and the one faithful Samaritan. Jesus showed mercy to the faithful; friend and foe, religious insider and outsider. What a great example for us to emulate.
