Luke 18:9-14

10/23/22

20th Sunday after Pentecost (Luke 18:9-14)

Gospel Message from Pastor William.

In this parable, Jesus tells about two men and their different approach to prayer. Both men tell the truth about themselves, which Jesus neither commends nor condemns, but Jesus challenges the man who puts down the other. We do the same thing when we use “they” language in our prayers or speech about problems in the world. Jesus says to use “I” language; “I” need to change my behavior so that things can be better. “I” need to be doing something to make a difference.
