23rd Sunday after Pentecost (Luke 21:5-19)
Gospel Message from Pastor William.
For over two thousand years, people have speculated about the “end times” being close at hand. Even today, in casual conversation, people point the wars, earthquakes and other calamities as signs. But, Jesus said something else about how to tell if the end is near; “they will arrest you and persecute you…because of my name.” (v12) We won’t get arrested for just go to church on Sunday. No, we will have to really bother authorities with our Christian behavior of love for others and freedom for the oppressed before we’re arrest worthy.
