Resurrection Sunday (Luke 24:1-12)

Jesus is risen! The perplexed women who came to the tomb are asked; “Why do you look for the living among the dead” (Luke 24:5)? That’s a good question. In our faith practice we put a lot of emphasis on the cross and Jesus’ death. While that is well and good, it is unimportant without the empty tomb. God’s victory over death by raising Jesus from the dead is the important part. This life on earth is not all there is. Life with Christ begins on earth and continues through our death into a new life made for us by the power of God who longs to have us at God’s side, forever! Jesus is risen! Thanks be to God!
