Baptism of Our Lord (Matthew 3:13-17)

Why was Jesus baptized? Some say; so that he could identify with us sinners who actually need baptism. But he was without sin, so he didn’t need baptism. Perhaps, it has to do with what God did during his baptism; after all, our baptism is about what God is doing anyway. Yes, perhaps Jesus was baptized so God could claim him as God’s Son (see verse 17). So, let’s pay attention to what God is doing in baptism today too.
