4th Sunday after Epiphany (Matthew 5:1-12)
Gospel Message from Pastor William
Jesus teaches his disciples (students) about what the kingdom of God looks like. It can be summed up in his opening statement; blessed are the poor in spirit – those who have no life beyond themselves. For the kingdom of heaven is for them – for them to see how they are part of something much bigger than themselves. They will see how their caring for others is a kingdom way of life, and they will be happy (blessed).
