Psalm 1

09/04/22

13th Sunday after Pentecost

Psalm 1, paraphrased by Pastor William

Joy-filled are those

            who ignore the naysayers,

who stay off the beaten path of evil,

            who don’t re-post internet trolls.

No, the joy-filled follow God’s way of love;

            thinking about it day and night.

They are like well-cared for trees;

            producing plenty of fruit,

never wilting or fading,

            always growing and flourishing.

On the other hand, the wrong-doers

            are blown away like dust.

They are responsible for their behavior;

            they have no leg to stand on.

God walks alongside the seekers of good,

            but the evil-seekers are doomed.
