Psalm 37:1-11, 39-40

7th Sunday after Epiphany

Psalm 37:1-11, 39-40 paraphrase by Pastor William

02/20/22

Stop fussing and being envious;

                good things happen to bad people too.

That is not a reward for their behavior;

rain falls on good and evil alike.

Stay focused on what matters;

                continue to do good.

Remember God loves you;

                God desires good for you.

Dedicate yourself to following God’s ways:

                where grace, mercy and love reign.

Rest in God’s goodness;

                let evildoers wallow in their filth.

Renounce your anger;

                nothing good comes from it.

Be glad God provides enough for all;

                cherish what God does for you.

God provides a sure refuge,

                for those who seek with their heart.

The Lord rescues those who seek goodness;

                the wicked shall perish,

But, those who seek the Lord,

                shall find a refuge of peace and love.
