Psalm 69:7-10, 16-18

God, I give my life to you,

        but people laugh and mock me.

Even my own family calls me foolish,

        they do not follow my lead.

My enthusiasm for you consumes me,

        people’s insults against you hurt me.

I pray for them and serve them,

        but they continue to insult me.

Don’t you see the situation I’m in?

        Why don’t you help me, now?

Show me you understand;

        see my suffering and save me.

Come on God, free me from this abuse;

        free me now.
