2nd Sunday in Lent – Luke 13:31-35
Stewardship Moment from Pastor William
Stewardship in the Gospel
Jesus stays focused on the work he has to do to bring about God’s kingdom. He is unconcerned with Herod, who intends him harm, saying; Let “that fox” know I’ve got work to do and I’m not interested in changing on account of him.
Stewardship in our community
God’s kingdom is about caring for the other. It is about living so our resources are sufficient enough to care for ourselves AND care for others. In times of economic uncertainty we tend to forget that important truth.
Stewardship in practice
We are called to recognize that God provides abundantly so that we have enough to let go of control over some of it – it all belongs to God anyway. What is one thing you can do this week to show that you trust God to provide? Tell “that fox” of insecurity and scarcity to go away, you have work to do!
