Stewardship Moment - 2nd Sunday of Advent

2nd Sunday of Advent – Luke 1:39-56

Stewardship Moment from Pastor William

Stewardship in the Gospel

Mary visits her kinfolk, Elizabeth, bursting with good news. She declares God’s wonderful, generous, abundant, and restoring nature. She proclaims that God favors the lowly, marginalized and unseen people of society. Good news, indeed!

Stewardship in our community

Today’s news tends toward sensationalism, fear and scarcity. But, if we look past all that junk, we can see the truth. God is doing good things. People are doing good things. Sufficient supplies and resources exist. Everywhere we look, good things are happening.

Stewardship in practice

If you find yourself succumbing to negativity in your thinking or your speech, stop! Mary, too, had much to bemoan, but she magnified the good. In the midst of uncertainty, she found a way to give thanks to the wonderful God of abundant love. We too, can be like Mary; looking beyond fear and worries to see the good. See it, name it, share it.
