2nd Sunday of Easter – John 20:19-31
Stewardship Moment from Pastor William
Stewardship in the Gospel
On the third day after his death, Jesus’ disciples are hidden behind locked doors. They don’t believe he was raised from the dead. All of a sudden, Jesus shows up! He breaks the barrier they set up to protect themselves from society. Jesus brings love, peace and mission to those in need.
Stewardship in our community
It seems that God is no longer a welcome participant in our collective lives as a community. No longer do we publicly proclaim that God exists or that God’s love, peace and mission are for all. This is the opposite of stewardship.
Stewardship in practice
This week, let’s do something to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. Turn the blasphemy of “OMG” on its head by greeting people with; “Oh my God, you are so special in God’s eyes.” Then be ready for Jesus to break through and do marvelous things.
