Stewardship Moment - 3rd Sunday of Easter

3rd Sunday of Easter – Luke 24:13-35

Stewardship Moment from Pastor William

Stewardship in the Gospel

On the third day after his death some of his disciples gave up on Jesus and left for Emmaus. They wanted saving from human oppression and taxes. They didn’t see that Jesus was offering them a new way of life; one of relationship with God that affects every aspect of life.

Stewardship in our community

The disciples were looking to be benefited, without considering how that would change their outlook on life. They failed to see that God blesses so that we can be a blessing to others. They were in the “receiving” business, not the living “The Way” business – the opposite of good stewardship.

Stewardship in practice

What is one way you have been blessed by God? Consider how that blessing was done so you can bless others. Now, take that blessing and give it away – give away the love of God. Don’t worry, you won’t lose it; there is plenty more from where that came. That, my friends, is stewardship.
