Stewardship Moment - 4th Sunday After Epiphany, Luke 4

4th Sunday after Epiphany – Luke 4:21-30

Stewardship Moment from Pastor William

Stewardship in the Gospel

Jesus, continues doing good for others and teaching them about God’s kingdom come. His hometown folk are happy; they expect to receive even more than others received. But, there is the problem; they are not asking what they can do, they are asking for what they can get.

Stewardship in our community

Society teaches us that we need to grab everything we can get; regardless of how others are impacted, or left out. Jesus teaches that there is enough, more than enough, for all to have life abundantly.

Stewardship in practice

Let us be deliberate in recognizing God’s abundance and practicing thankfulness. Instead of stocking up so we don’t run out, how about buying only what is needed for the short-term; and then one or two cans of good soup for the food pantry? Imagine the difference we would make if every person who came to church brought a couple cans of soup to benefit the community
