5th Sunday of Easter – John 14:1-14

Stewardship Moment from Pastor William

Stewardship in the Gospel

Jesus’s response to Thomas’ inquiry about how to know the way to where Jesus was going was to say; he is God and he is The Way. It is that simple; following Jesus is the thing to do because he is God and he gives us life.

Stewardship in our community

Folks of every kind seek a life of meaning. They desire to have some purpose for living. Jesus declares that we get life and meaning by being connected with God; which begins with following Jesus’ way. And Jesus’ way is loving as we are first loved by God. Love is infinite and boundless.

Stewardship in practice

Recognizing God’s abundant love helps us realize it’s God’s love we are called to share. This week, turn your frustration with someone into love. Take a moment to realize that all people need to feel loved; even, and maybe especially, those people that do things that frustrate you. Now, find a way to express God’s love for that person; for as certain as God loves you, God loves that person too. That is the way to meaningful life for you, and them.
