7th Sunday after Epiphany – Luke 6:27-38
Stewardship Moment from Pastor William
Stewardship in the Gospel
Jesus tells us that loving our enemy is the action of doing good to or for them. Saying; I love that person, but hate what they are doing, is not what Jesus means. Love is not a feeling, it is an action.
Stewardship in our community
Our community is full of people willing to do good for those who are capable of doing good back. That is all well and good, but Jesus says his followers do good for those who cannot, or will not, do good back.
Stewardship in practice
We do good for others when we can see their actions in the best possible light. When we consider they are doing the best they can. When we step up to act in thoughtfulness toward them. Now, try saying a kind word to someone who appears grumpy. Step aside in a line for someone rushing about. Smile to someone acting anxiously.
