7th Sunday after Pentecost – Luke 11:1-13
Stewardship Moment from Pastor William
Stewardship in the Gospel
Jesus teaches his disciples how and why to pray. We are to pray for help in making God’s kingdom to come. We are to pray for help in forgiving others’ offenses, just as we ask for forgiveness of our offenses. We are to pray for understanding and wisdom to know that it is God’s strong desire to grant us these things.
Stewardship in our community
God desires that we use our abilities, strengths and resources to benefit our community. When we step out of our personal desires and self-benefit, and into what God desires, we help bring about God’s kingdom.
Stewardship in practice
This week, pray for understanding of what God wants you to do that will benefit others. Pray that God will make you the person God wants you to be. Pray that God will provide you with the means to make a difference to the world. You can’t do it all by yourself, but you can do your part. Change for the good starts with you; pray and it will happen.
