Day of Pentecost – John 14:8-17
Stewardship Moment from Pastor William
Stewardship in the Gospel
Jesus says believers will do the works he did. The works Jesus did belong to God, were done by the power of God, and done for the benefit of others – the three elements of stewardship. As believers, our natural response to what God has first done for us is to do those same life-giving works of love and forgiveness for others.
Stewardship in our community
Our community needs more works of life-giving love and forgiveness; not to benefit the doer, but to benefit the recipient. Our works are to be done for those who cannot repay.
Stewardship in practice
As a believer, are you doing Jesus’ work? Who and when was the last time you: forgave someone without being asked, uplifted someone with your words and actions, stood up for someone being oppressed or overloaded, and acted for the well-being of a stranger? How many of these Jesus works can you do this week?
