Second Sunday in Lent – John 3:1-17
Stewardship Moment from Pastor William
Stewardship in the Gospel
Nicodemus asks Jesus how one can be born into the Spirit (breath) of God. He envisions a worldly birth, but Jesus is speaking about a life-changing birth where one is filled with the breath of God. We are no longer living because we breath, but God is breathing life into us.
Stewardship in our community
How does our community steward breath (life)? Do we plant more trees and bushes than we cut down? Do we put more carbon in the air than we take out? Do we throw away leaves or compost them? Do we use one-time use materials or wash dishes?
Stewardship in practice
We are filled with the breath of God, so it is good for us to recognize even our breathing is not our own. This week, choose to re-use rather than throw away. Buy a snake plant (dracaena trifasciata) and place it in your home – it is considered one of the easiest to care for and provides some of the best air cleaning qualities.
